Kohinoor Weaving Mills was incorporated as company limited by shares with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under the provisions of Companies Ordinance, 1984 (Now Companies Act 2017). The certificates relating to incorporation of the company and commencement of business was issued by SECP as on December 21, 1987, under Registration Number L00577.
In January 1990, the company was listed as a public limited company on Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) (formerly Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad Stock Exchanges of Pakistan). Its shares are traded under textile composite sector bearing trading symbol as “KML”.
In the year 2006, SECP on its automation replaced all old registration numbers with new Corporate Unique Identification Number. Envisaging the nature of businesses being carried out by the Company, the word “weaving” in the name of the company did not fully represent the scope as stated in the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company. The Board of Directors, and thereafter by the shareholders unanimously approved the change in name of the company. The change in name of the Company from Kohinoor Weaving Mills to Kohinoor Mills was approved by SECP as on December 14, 2006.
